KATHMANDU July 23: Chairperson of the ruling Nepal Communist Party(NCP) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda on Tuesday has said that people’s revolution in Nepal has come to a fruition in what he calls "an original way" amid a function organized in the capital to commemorate the 41st anniversary of the death of Puspa Lal Shrestha accredited with founding the first communist party in Nepal.
Speaking at the program, Dahal said that the communist leaders have found themselves in a position to take communist leadership to a new height. He also clarified that the decision to merge the two parties was made in a sagacious manner.
He urged all the communist leaders to dedicate their time to the consolidation of the communist party in terms of clear political ideology, organizational development based on scientific criteria, communist norms and values.
Claiming that the present communist leaders and cadres are the political heirs of Puspa Lal Shrestha, Dahal made a reference to the contribution made by him to the unification of parties divided over different political issues and the completion of people’s revolution through armed peasants’ struggle.
On the occasion, he also reiterated that the process of merging the two parties has almost reached its fruition. “What remains to be done is to make it formal,” said Dahal.
He also informed that the NCP will launch a national campaign aimed at developing an ideal model of good governance and development upon the completion of the party merger.
