KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Sahas Sports Private Limited’s brand ambassador and national women’s volleyball player Pratibha Mali on Thursday has left for the Netherlands to participate in a three-week-long special training.
Organizing a press meet in the capital on Thursday, Janak Neupane, president of Sahas Sports, said that the training will help Mali develop her skills, which she will share with her teammates after returning home.
Mali said the she got this opportunity because of New Diamond Academy (NDA), her coach, friends and well-wishers, adding that she would impress the coaches in Europe with her dedication to the sport and hard work.

Mali said, “Three weeks is not a long time, but I hope to gain some experience and develop my skills by utilizing this opportunity.’’
NDA’s coach Kumar Rai said that this was the first time in the history of Nepali volleyball that any player was going to the Netherlands for training. It was a big thing for Nepal, according to Rai.
“We are thankful to the Netherlands Volleyball Association’s development manager Peter van Tarel, who came to Nepal some months ago and invited Mali to train with them, Rai said.
Speaking at the press meet, Nepal Volleyball Association’s vice-president Ranjan Khadka thanked Sahas Sports for appointing Mali as their brand ambassador, adding that it was a matter of great prestige to them.
Khadka further said that an opportunity like this would provide inspiration to the players and would help Mali nurture her skills.
