KATHMANDU, March 10: Photojournalist Prasa-nna Bajracharya has won Photo Nepal, a photography contest with 'winter' theme, leaving behind 509 photos submitted by 230 photographers from across the country.

The contest was organized by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in association with Photo Journalists (PJ) Club.
With the win, Bajracharya has been awarded an all expenses paid trip to Suklaphanta and a cash prize of Rs 5000. Bajracharya's photo was taken during Madhav Narayan festival in January, 2018. In the award winning photo, a father is seen stopping his son from rushing out to freezing cold water.
Bikram Magar's photo got the second prize and Pramin Manandhar's photo got the third prize in the contest. The NTB has awarded a tour package to Lumbini along with a cash prize of Rs 5000 to the first runner-up. Likewise, the second runner-up has received a tour package to Chitwan and a cash prize of Rs 5000.
Top 50 photos of the contest have been put on display on the premises of NTB. The photo exhibition will continue for one week. The photos have portrayed various aspects of the winter season in Nepal.
The NTB in association with PJ Club has been organizing the Photo Nepal contest since 2016 with the aim of promoting tourism.
