Prajapati, who carded even-par 72 in the first round on Tuesday, slipped to the second position on Wednesday as he failed to maintain his rhythm. Prajapati and an Indian player are joint second at six-over 150.[break]
A Sri Lankan amateur leads the tournament remaining six strokes ahead of Prajapati. Prajapati carded four birdies in the second round but suffered six bogeys and a double bogey.
Another Nepali amateur Ashish Pariyar also made the cut as 32 players qualified for the final two rounds. Pariyar carded seven-over 77 on Wednesday for a total of 13-over 157. In the team competition, the Nepali duo dropped one spot to the third position.
Altogether 75 players -- 60 from India, seven from Pakistan and two each from Nepal, Ireland, Germany and Sri Lanka -- participated in the first two rounds of the tournament and the cut was applied after the second round on Wednesday.
Shrestha improves on Day II
Nepal No 1 professional golfer Shiva Ram Shrestha improved his performance on the second day of the PGTI Players Championship being held at the Classic Golf Resort in Gurgaon, India.
Shrestha, who carded one-over 73 on Tuesday and was in the 45th spot, submitted a card of three-under 69 on Wednesday to move up 22 spots. Following the improved performance, Shrestha shared the 23rd position in overall with a total score of two-under 142. Mukesh Kumar of India leads the tournament with a score of nine-under 135.
Another Nepali pro Toran Bikram Shahi carded one-over 73 for the second consecutive day for a total of two-over 146. Shahi, who was in the 45th position on Tuesday, slumped eight spots to the 53rd position and failed to make the cut.
