KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Sobinka Agnieszka, a citizen of  Poland, died last night in the Suryakunda area on the border of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts during a mountain trek.


Chief of Rasuwa District Police Keshab Bhattarai said that Agnieszka, holding Polish passport number ‘FE 3051811’ was found dead in the vicinity of Suryakunda.

The dead body was brought to Gosaikunda with the assistance of Srinath Battalion of the Nepali Army and Nepal Police in the district. The body has been sent to the TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu this morning via helicopter.


Air Dynasty flight manager Bivek Adhikari said that the dead body was brought to Kathmandu at the request of the Real Himalaya Trekking office.


Police Chief Bhattarai said that further investigation into the death is currently underway. The post-mortem report will determine whether the death was caused due to altitude sickness or other causes.
