KATHMANDU, Oct. 21: The Metropolis Traffic Police Division is planning to declare horn restricted area to 15 different sites of the Kathmandu valley within 15 days.

At a press meet in the capital on Friday, Chief of the Division, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police Ganesh Raj Rai said preparation is underway to declare no horn areas to the areas south from Padmodaya Mode, east from Bhadrakali Temple and north from Maitighar Mandala within 15 days. On the occasion, Rai said controlling the pressure of vehicles in the valley has been a challenging job due to rising trend of impunity as the Ministry of Transport Management and offices concerned that have been provided with rights and responsibilities were not helping to exercise the rights in this regard to the traffic police.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Metropolis has given permission to Sagar Tamang of local Kamalpokhari to run the parking areas in some areas of the valley.

Commenting on the move of the Metropolis office, Superintendent of Police Jagat Man Shrestha said such decision was an irresponsible act as the traffic police personnel were facing difficulties to manage the traffic pressure in the valley and this will add to problems to manage traffic system.

Similarly, Ministry of Energy has directed the Kathmandu Metropolis to replace the hoarding boards placed in different areas of the valley.
