DHARAN, Feb 25: Four time champion of the Budhasubba Gold Cup football tournament, Nepal Police Club, is taking on CMG Club Sankata in the summit clash of the 19th edition of the competition in Dharan, on Saturday.

Police, four time champion of the tournament, is thus looking to extend its winning record and also claim its first trophy of the season after struggling to witness success in any of the season’s four tournaments.

Sankata, which is participating in the tournament for the first time, is in solid form as it has already bagged two trophies this season including Bikash Running Shield of Narayangadh and Simara Gold Cup held in Bara. Sankata was also the runner up of Khaptad Gold Cup held in Dhangadhi.

Police overcame the host Dharan Yellow, Kanchanjunga FC of Siliguri and Dharan Blue, another team of the host in the semifinal clash to reach final. Similarly another finalist Sanakata defeated visiting side Durgapur Steel of Kolkata, Armed Police Force (APF) and Rupandehi XI.
