KATHMANDU, March 27: Metropolitan Police Range Office (MPRO) and Metropolitan Crime Division have jointly raided five casinos in the capital.
“The casinos were raided in the course of searching those featuring in the most wanted list and to check whether Nepalis were involved in them,” SP Pradhumna Karki, spokesperson of the MPRO, told Republica Online.
A joint squad from MPRO and MCD stormed into the casinos at 10 pm on Sunday and arrested 13 Nepali girls from the Casino Mahjong*.
However, the casino management* has denied them being involved in the gambling. The management has claimed that they were casino trainees.
Casinos are barred for Nepali nationals.
