ILAM, May 14: A clash took place at a polling station of Deumai Municipality in Ilam after employees on poll duty were found carrying election stamps where the vote counting is currently underway. Police had to open fires as the situation got tense there.
Local journalist Tika Khatiwada said that police fired at least three rounds in the air after the situation became tense. The situation has yet to come under control.
The vote counting was suspended some three hours ago after the dispute broke out. Police have not confirmed the firings.
