Police, looters clash in Makwanpur

HETAUDA, June 14: Police and looters exchanged firing near Hetauda in Makwanpur on Saturday night.



Two robbers were injured, one critically, in the police action at Chiriyamai VDC along East-West Highway.



Police said the duo were behind several cases of motorcycle looting, declining to reveal the names. Lalitpur police have issued arrest warrants against them.



The looters attacked a team of police personnel who were hunting them and in response the police retaliated them, police said.



Some other looters managed to flee the scene, said Superintendent of Police Keshari Raj Ghimire.
