Makwanpur police fine those not wearing a mask at public places

MAKWANPUR, Jan 26: People who don’t wear face masks at public places have been fined in Makwanpur district. A team deployed by the District Police Office has fined 60 people from different places for not wearing a mask at the rate of Rs 100 per person.

MAKWANPUR, Jan 26: People who don’t wear face masks at public places have been fined in Makwanpur district. A team deployed by the District Police Office has fined 60 people from different places for not wearing a mask at the rate of Rs 100 per person.


Spokesperson for the office and Deputy Superintendent of Police Jayeshwar Rimal said that action has been taken against those who were found walking without wearing a mask at public places. He said that people were fined for not following the order despite repeated warnings.

They have been fined under the Covid-19 Infectious Diseases Control Act 2020. A meeting of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center held on January 23 had decided to fine those who walk in public places of the district without wearing masks. Police have also been distributing free masks in Hetauda and urging the people to adopt precautions against the pandemic.
