After going down 23-25 in the first set Police won three sets in a row -- 30-28, 25-19, 25-16 -- for the title. Sanjay Aryal of the winning team was adjuged the man-of-the-match.[break]
Champion Police bagged a purse of Rs 150,000 while runner-up Western Railway received Rs 100,000 along with trophies, medals and certificates. Jeetendra Bahadur Chand, general secretary of Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA), had sponsored the cash prizes for the winner and the runner-up.
Earlier, in the third place playoff match, Nepal Army Club edged past Sagar Sports Club of Uttarkhand, India 3-1. Army lost the first set 22-25 but bounced back to take the next three sets 25-18, 25-18, 25-23. Deepak Thapa of Army was declared the man-of-the-match. As the second runner-up, Army bagged a purse of Rs 50,000. The cash prize for the second runner-up was sponsored by NVA Treasurer Niroj Maskey.
Meanwhile, Yuvaraj Lama, member secretary of the National Sports Council, announced a cash reward of Rs 5,000 each to all the members of the winning team.

Aryal of Police was declared the best player of the tournament and was awarded Rs 10,000. Kul Bahadur Thapa and Im Rana of Police took home the best server and setter awards. Omkar and Sandip Singh of Western Railway were declared the best blocker and spiker respectively. Pushpa Jung Malla of Armed Police Force (APF) won the best defender award. All the five best players received Rs 2,000 each along with the trophy.
Meanwhile, NVA General Secretary Jeetendra Bahadur Chand, national captain Bharat Shah, coach Kapil Kishor Shrestha and former national player Rakesh Srivastav were felicitated for their contribution to the development of volleyball in Nepal.
Altogether six teams -- three each from Nepal and India -- had competed in the tournament.
