Police intervene BSP’s silent protest against Indian PM Narendra Modi

KATHMANDU, May 11: Police have intervened at the office of Bibeksheel Sajha Party (BSP) to remove banner that welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi but remarked that Nepali people “hadn’t forgotten the blockade.”

The police reached the party’s office just when Modi was to land in Kathmandu from Janakpur. A central party meeting was underway when the police entered the party’s premises.


Lalitpur police removed cropped Nepal's flag from the flex and later removed it from the party’s office. To protest against the police’s interventions, leaders associated with the party are staging protest at Lalitpur Police Office.


According to the party’s leader, Ramesh Paudel, a team led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police came and intervened in its office. “The Oli government is intolerant. It curtailed our right to protest peacefully.”
