Police detains protesting civil servants

KATHMANDU, July 19: Police have detained more than 100 government employees on Tuesday from within the premises of the Finance Ministry at Singha Durbar.



The government employees were chanting slogans and protesting against salary hike by the government for the next fiscal year. [break]



The employees are complaining of discrimination with regards to the raised salary.



It has been learnt that the police have taken the detainees to Mahindra Police Club and Sorakhutte Police Beat.
