Police handed arrest warrant to Bhandari prior to detaining him. Bhandari was accompanied by officials of cooperative to the police station after he refused to go on police van.
Police said that he was detained following the multiple complaints filed against him over forgery.
"Bhandari is detained over the complaints filed by Unity Life International members who accuse him of forgery," Deputy Superintendent of Police Bikash Raj Khanal informed.
"Police will investigate into the case," Khanal added.
