Police destroy 20, 875 liters of hooch in Balaju

KATHMANDU, Dec 24:  Police on Monday destroyed home-made 20, 875 liters of hooch at Manamaiju in Tarkeshwar municipality-9 of the district. 

Acting on a tip-off that the illegal hooch was being prepared and sold illegally, a police team from Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC), Balaju raided the liquor outlets and destroyed 1,565 liters of home-made liquor and 19, 310 liters of raw materials of liquor in the presence of ward chairman Balaram Sapkota and locals.

 According to a press release issued by MPC, Balaju, 40-year-old Phurpu Shepa and Dawa Sherpa, 35, of Shankhuwasabha had been engaged in preparing illegal hooch in nine huts built on the rented land.
