Police confirm body of Indian national found in Narayani River is linked to Simaltal incident

CHITWAN, July 13: The District Police Office, Chitwan, has confirmed that a body found on the bank of the Narayani River at Bharatpur-28 is that of a passenger from the bus swept away by a landslide in Simaltal.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhesh Raj Rijal, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Chitwan, the deceased was a passenger of the Ganapati Deluxe bus.

The body was found on the riverbank at 8:30 AM on Saturday, along with several documents. Based on these documents, the deceased was identified as Indian citizen Rishi Paul Shah.

Satya Pal Shah, the deceased's brother, confirmed the identity, stating that Rishi Paul Shah, 28, used to live and work in Nepal. Rishi Paul, originally from Rajmunuwa, Motihari, India, had boarded the bus from Jorpati in Kathmandu to travel to Gaur.

The Ganapati Deluxe bus, carrying 29 passengers, was traveling from Kathmandu to Gaur in Rautahat when it was caught in a landslide.
