KATHMANDU, June 9: A police team of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested two people, who allegedly cheated people in the name of sending them to Cambodia and Dubai for foreign employment.


Those arrested are Sher Bahadur Tamang, 46, of Solukhumbu's Likhu Pike Rural Municipality-1 and Munadevi Karki, 45, of Damak Municipality-10, Jhapa. Both of them are currently living in Kathmandu.

According to police, Tamang was arrested from New Baneshwor today on charge of defrauding Khum Bahadur Rana of Rs 500,000 by saying that he would send him to Cambodia for foreign employment.


According to the Information Officer at Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office SP Rabindra Regmi, police arrested Umesh Shrestha from Babarmahal on the charge of fraud of Rs 450,000.  Both the arrested persons have been sent to Foreign Employment Office, Tahachal, for necessary action.
