A large number of security personnel has been mobilised in the hospital to avoid any untoward situation. All services, including emergency, has been temporarily halted due to the protest.
According to the hospital, Dhakal, who was admitted on Friday following fever, died on Tuesday night while undergoing treatment.
Dhakal´s relatives, however, said he died due to the negligence of doctors, which doctors are denying.
Dr. Pandey said that Dhakal died after he suddenly came under a bout of hiccup when his relatives make him drink water in an unconscious condition.
Dhakal, a professor at Tata Institute of Social Sciences College in Mumbai, had come to Nepal a few days ago to celebrate Tihar.
His family members admitted him to the hospital thinking that he suffered from fever as a result of high altitude sickness during his 10 days of trekking at Ghore Pani.
