Pokhara defeated PLA Club 3-2 in the match played at the Dasharath Stadium. [break]
Man-of-the-match Sujal Shrestha struck twice in the first half and gave the lead to Pokhara XI. Anil Ojha, playing for Pokhara, added the third in the 78th minute. However, PLA bounced back in the last 10 minutes of the match. Suraj scored in the 81st and 90th minutes for PLA but could not stop Pokhara´s victory.
Likewise, Gorkha Boys Club, Rupandehi thrashed Kathmandu XI 3-0 in the second match of the day. The first half of the match remained goalless but Sanjeev Budhathoki provided lead to Gorkha Boys in the 77th minute. Surendra Tamang added two more for the winning team in the 79th and 88th minutes.
Hosts Workers Martyrs Memorial Club will take on Knight Chess Club, Jhapa in the first semifinal of the tournament on Tuesday.
