KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has denied Maoists’ hand in murder of Janakpur-based journalist Uma Singh and vowed to take legal action against those involved. Talking to a delegation of the Federation of Nepali Journalists at his residence in Baluwatar, Dahal said the murder of a journalist was a heinous crime and the government will leave no stone unturned to bring the culprits to book. "I talked to party circle and found no evidence of their involvement," the PM said. "So let´s not engage in baseless allegations because such allegations may affect an independent probe. Some lawmakers in the parliament had suspected that there might be involvement of those who killed Uma’s father and brother in the murder. Independent lawmaker Babban Singh in the parliament meeting Tuesday claimed he has proofs of Maoists’ threat to slain journo. CPN-UML lawmaker Ram Chandra Pyasi Kuswaha claimed the murderers of her father and brother might have involved in the journalists’ murder.
