Gachachhadar who was attending a program as a chief guest in Bhaktapur Durbar Square to mark International Earthquake Day also received a memorandum from journalists on Tuesday. [break]
Journalists were participating in a protest rally organized by Federation of Nepali Journalists Bhaktapur Chapter demanding stern action against those involved in Thapa murder took a minute to hand over the memorandum to the deputy prime minister.
"The persons charged with murder have recorded their statements," Gachchhadar said, "They will face sentence after the investigation."
Referring to the reports that authorities involved in investigation were facing pressure, he made it clear that his ministry had not exerted pressure on anyone. "No pressure has been exerted on investigators from my ministry," he added.
It has been reported that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai was scheduled to attend the program who boycotted in the last minute fearing protests.
