PM returns, terms civil servants' agitation 'normal'

KATHMANDU, July 18: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal returned to the capital Saturday after participating in the 15th summit meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) at Sharm El-Sheikha on the Red Sea in Egypt.



Speaking to reporters after his four-day visit, the prime minister said participating nations pledged their support to Nepal´s peace process.



When asked to comment on the agitation of civil servants over their demand for salary hike, Nepal termed it "normal". The agitators have paralyzed Singha Durbar for the past few days demanding a pay raise.



PM Nepal also reiterated his invitation to the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) to join the government.
