The prime minister made this remarks after Maoist representatives in the meeting of Special Committee on Supervision, Management and Rehabilitation of Maoist Combatants raised the issue before the prime minister.
Addressing a Parliamentary Affairs Committee meeting a few days ago, Minister Bhandari had maintained that the CPA provisions needed to be revised as they disallow the Nepal Army to make fresh recruitment to fill in regular vacancies.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Maoist lawmaker Janardan Sharma said the prime minister told them that the government is committed to the ongoing peace process and the CPA. “The prime minister said that remark made by defense minister was not official position of the government,” he said.
