PM provides US visit allowance to earthquake relief fund

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai deposited Rs 1, 76,364 (USD 2,314) for the earthquake relief fund on Tuesday.



The money was provided by the government to PM Bhattarai as allowance for his trip to New York, to attend the 66th session of the UN General Assembly. [break]



Bhattarai has also deposited Rs 38,105, provided by his teacher and Rs 1, 14,315 contributed by Arjun Prasad Mainali, currently residing in America, to the fund, informed PM´s aide Biswadeep Pandey.



Meanwhile the PM is also scheduled to gather information from secretaries, security chiefs and other concerned persons about the damage caused by the earthquake, that hit the country on September 18. Bhattarai is expected to give instructions to provide relief to the victims at the earliest.
