KATHMANDU, March 15: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has proposed the agitating Madhes-based parties that the issues related to provincial delineation would be settled prior to the election of the Provincial Assembly and Federal Parliament.
Putting forward the proposal in the meeting with the leaders of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Wednesday, PM Dahal urged Madhes-based parties to participate in the upcoming local elections.
According to PM's Press Advisor Govinda Acharya, PM held the meeting at Singha Durbar and put forward the proposal, to which Madhesi leaders replied to discuss it within the UDMF and Federal Alliance.
The 7-days ultimatum given by the Madhes-based parties to move forward the constitution amendment bill with revision ended on Tuesday. The Madhes-based parties have been saying that the support given to the government ended automatically as the government did not address their demands within the given deadline.
