KATHMANDU, March 31: Chief whip of CPN (Maoist Center), Dev Gurung has maintained that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli should win a vote of confidence from parliament by April 5.
Addressing a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Wednesday, Gurung said that the prime minister should win a vote of confidence from parliament since the Supreme Court has already invalidated the then Nepal Communist Party.
What next: Midterm elections or a full-term Oli govt?
“Clause 2 of Article 100 stipulates that a vote of no confidence must be taken within 30 days if the ruling party splits or a coalition partner in the government withdraws its support,”said Gurung.
He also accused the government of undermining the constitution and supremacy of the Supreme Court.
