PM leaves for UN

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal left for the United States Sunday to attend the 64th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.



PM Nepal, who is leading a 30-member delegation including Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala, is scheduled to address the General Assembly of the UN on September 26. In his address, PM Nepal is expected to highlight the progress Nepal has made in the peace front, constitution-drafting process, army integration and also raise the issue of climate change and food-shortage in western region of Nepal.







PM Nepal will also attend the meeting of top 10 UN peacekeeping contributing countries at the invitation of the US President Barack Obama. He will also hold talks with other heads of states at the sidelines of the GA meeting. The PM is scheduled to return on September 28.
