PM leaves for Denmark

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal left for Copenhagen on Monday afternoon to attend the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.



His wife Gayatri Nepal, ministers, the prime minister´s advisors, members of the Constituent Assembly and government officials are accompanying him.



The prime minister is addressing the conference on Wednesday. “Nepal will raise the same issues we talked during the Everest Cabinet meeting,” he said before leaving. “We will tell the world that the mountains are melting and we need to save them.”



During his visit to Denmark, PM Nepal will meet UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on December 15. Similarly, he will hold interaction with the Nepali community at the Nepali Embassy in Denmark.



Moreover, PM Nepal is to hold a meet with Danish Minister for Development Assistance, Ulla Toranse on December 16.



On December 17, PM Nepal will meet with the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Tan DUNG and attend the dinner to be hosted by Vietnamese Queen in honor of the heads of state and government present there.
