PM Koirala extends greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr

KATHMANDU, July 19: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has extended his greetings to all the Muslim sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the greatest festivals of the Muslim community.

In a message of best wishes today, the Prime Minister has wished for peace, happiness, prosperity and progress of the entire Muslims on the occasion. "Nepal is wonderful because it is a home to people carrying caste, religious, cultural and linguistic diversities and tolerance, a feeling of support and fraternity are the characters of Nepalis which have helped keep the religious, linguistic and communal harmony intact," the PM said.

He said, "May this festival inspire one and all to make meaningful efforts for promulgating the federal democratic republic constitution as soon as possible and thereby leading the country towards socioeconomic development with the attainment of durable peace and political stability."

Similarly, Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel have extended warm greetings to the entire Muslim community on the auspicious occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

Meanwhile, UCPN (Maoist) has extended best wishes to the entire Muslim community on the same occasion. "May this festival bless all the Muslim people with motivation and new energy so that they can ensure their rights in the new constitution," the party said in the message.

The Muslim community is celebrating the Eid-ul-Fitr today and the government has announced the public holiday on the occasion. RSS
