HETAUDA, Feb. 8: As per the regular program of spending a night among the people every month, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has left for the settlement of the Bankariya, a very backward community in Twangra of Handikhola VDC-7, Makwanpur.

The Prime Minister will spend a night at the settlement of the backward minority community, located some 15 kilometers from Hetauda municipality as per his regular programme to go amongst the people and take note of their problems and issues, said Dr Bhattarai´s personal secretary Fanindra Devkota.

The Bankariyas are living a semi-nomadic life and relying on wild edibles.

We are planning to serve to the Prime Minister the popular delicacies of our community, said Bishnu Bankariya, while also expressing the confidence that their problems would finally be addressed.

I am still finding it hard to believe that the head of the government is coming to our village, added Bishnu.
