PM directs local authorities to attend flood survivors

TIAKPUR, Aug 17: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed the local authorities here not to let any flood survivor stay without food and shelter. 

Following the aerial inspection of Tikapur and Bhajani area in Kailali district on Thursday, PM Deuba said at a programme that all State bodies must concentrate to ensuring relief materials to those who were suffered much in the recent landside and floods. 

"Government is worried about the loss of lives and properties the disaster caused in various parts of the country. The flood victims must be ensured relief materials," he stressed. 
On the occasion, officiating Chief District Officer, Mohan Joshi, informed the PM's team that there was no human casualty in the flood, but more than 3,123 households were displaced due to the disaster. 

The displaced ones were provided shelter in various schools along the postal highway and the relief materials with the assistance from various associations. 

Chief of Tikapur municipality Tapendra Rawal also shared information about the inundation in Tiakpur and Bhajani municipalities, Janaki rural municipality. 

On the occasion, PM Deuba handed relief materials to the flood survivors. 

PM's team comprised Minister for Irrigation Sanjay Kumar Gautam and Chief of Army Staff, Rajendra Chhetri among others. RSS
