PM Dahal, three former PMs scheduled to address election gathering in Chitwan today

KATHMANDU, April 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and three former prime ministers are scheduled to address an election rally in Chitwan today.


Organised by the left-democratic alliance, the election gathering is taking place at Kalika Municipality-4 in East Chitwan targeting the April 23 by-election, said Surya Aryal, secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), Chitwan.

PM Dahal, and former PMs, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and Nepal Samajwadi Party Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai are scheduled to address the rally.


Similarly, NC leaders including Bishwo Prakash Sharma and Dr Shekhar Koirala will also address the gathering. PM Dahal will land in the venue for the rally through a helicopter and return directly to Kathmandu shortly after his address, said Chief District Officer Surendra Paudel. NC's Jit Narayan Shrestha from the ruling alliance is contesting from Chitwan Constituency number 2 in the by-election.
