KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has issued instructions to streamline the size of the delegation accompanying him to his upcoming trip to the UN headquarters.

PM Dahal is scheduled to go to the United States on September 15 to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). During a meeting convened on Sunday to discuss the visit's agenda, concerns were raised regarding the large size of the accompanying delegation.

In response, the Prime Minister directed the Chief Secretary to reduce the size of the delegation."The Prime Minister made a commitment during that discussion, and accordingly, instructions have been given to the Chief Secretary," as confirmed by PM Dahal's Press Advisor Govinda Acharya. Acharya further stated that the official decision will be made by the cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Additionally, the Prime Minister's advisor's participation in the visit has been canceled. Initially, the delegation consisted of 24 individuals, including the Chief Political Advisor, National Security Advisor, and Chief Secretary.

Foreign Minister NP Saud is leaving for the UN General Assembly tomorrow at 9AM. The homework is to further reduce the size of the delegation to five members, although the specific individuals have not yet been determined, according to an official.
