PM Dahal extends greetings on Udhauli

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has wished that may the Udhauli festival inspire the entire Nepali community to further deepen the mutual goodwill, fraternal ties and social tolerance existing among them for centuries.

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has wished that may the Udhauli festival inspire the entire Nepali community to further deepen the mutual goodwill, fraternal ties and social tolerance existing among them for centuries.


In his message of best wishes on the occasion of the Udhauli festival of the Kirat community today, the Prime Minister said unity in diversity and stronger social harmony are the special features of the Nepali society that is marked by religious, linguistic and cultural diversities.

"The Udhauli that is celebrated by the Kirat community, the indigenous people of Nepal, with great enthusiasm and much fanfare carries a significant cultural value," he said in the message of best wishes.


The festival marks the migration of people and birds from highlands towards lowland warmer regions to avoid cold. The festival also marks the end of harvest season. RSS
