PM Oli extends greetings on Dhanya Purnima

There is a tradition of celebrating Udhauli festival as the commencement of migration of humans, animals and birds to lowland from highland to avoid cold.

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended his best wishes to those celebrating Dhanya Purnima, Udhauli festival, Yomari Punhi and Jyapu Day.


Taking to a social site, PM Oli said, “Today is Dhanya Purnima. This Day has a great importance in the traditional agriculture era. This day is known as Dhanya Purnima as it is the festival of being thankful to the main paddy-harvesting in the month of Mangsir after planting it in Asar.”

Similarly, there is a tradition of celebrating Udhauli festival as the commencement of migration of humans, animals and birds to lowland from highland to avoid cold.


The Newar community is also celebrating Yomari Punhi and Jyapu Day today.
