PM Dahal briefs parliament on India visit

KATHMANDU, June 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has informed the House of Representatives about his recent visit to India. Responding to the queries of lawmakers in the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, PM Dahal informed them about his visit to India. PM Dahal also informed them about the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-appointed Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to India.


“Besides other issues, talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi included advancing Nepal-India relations, effective implementation of the past agreements between the two countries, and activating all bilateral mechanisms, including the border related mechanism.  “Discussions were held on resuming the meetings of the mechanisms,” PM Dahal said, “Healthy discussions were held on implementing the Pancheshwar Multi-purpose Project, Arun Hydropower Project and cooperation in the agriculture sector.”

PM Dahal said that he had extended an invitation to Modi to visit Nepal and that the Indian PM would visit Nepal at an appropriate time. Pm Dahal also informed about his meetings with Indian President Droupadi Murmu, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and others during the visit.
