PM cancels US trip, DPM Singh to lead Nepali delegation

KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has cancelled his planned trip to US to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

According to PM's Foreign Affairs advisor Dinesh Bhattarai the visit was called off due to complex political situation in the country.

Now, Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh will lead the Nepali delegation.

PM Koirala was scheduled to leave for US leading 18-member Nepali delegation on Wednesday afternoon.


He was slated to address the General Assembly on October 1. The heads of nations and governments of member countries would address the 70th General Assembly to be held from September 28 to October 5.
