KATHMANDU, April 7: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Saturday urged all political parties to focus on constitution writing as the peace process is soon drawing to a close.

He also expressed his hope that the remaining contentious issues in constitution writing would be resolved at a-three party meeting scheduled for Sunday to be followed by a Special Committee meeting that will chiefly dwell on the army integration process.

There is no alternative to sitting and holding deliberation to forge consensus on the contentious issues, he opined.

The remaining works of the peace process should be completed within the next five days, Bhattarai said, adding that the disputed issues impeding constitution writing should also be discussed thoroughly so that the twin tasks of peace and constitution could be completed in time.

Keeping in mind that only 50 days are remaining for the promulgation of the new constitution, PM Bhattarai has called on his fellow leaders to act with urgency on the twin tasks,PM´s aide Bishwadeep Pandey informed.
