Play based on the life of Tagore set to happen in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, May 23: ‘A Quiet Desire ‘, a play based on the life of Rabindranath Tagore is set to happen on May 28 at Army Officer’s Club, Bhadrakali, Kathmandu.



They play is presented by BP Koirala Nepal-India Foundation, Embassy of India and will be performed by the Ruchika Theater Group, one of the leading theater groups of Delhi, India.



The play is written and directed by Feisal Alkazi which will give audience a peek into young 19-year-old poet Robi’s life. Robi spends a lazy holiday with his brother Jyoti and his young wife Kadambari. As Robi’s fame expands his sister-in-law Kadambari, finds herself alone and her realization that she will never have a child, only adds fuel to the fire.



The director, Feisal Alkazi said that his play will explore the strong bond between Kadambari and Robi in the words of Tagore. He later added that the play will present his interpretation of their bond.



Apart from the play, the director Feisal Alkazi and his team from the Ruchika Theater Group will also be conducting actor’s workshop for children aged between 8 to 15 and adults at Moksh Live Restaurant and Bar, Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur on May 27.
