Plane crashes onto Philippine slum, 11 dead

MANILA, Philippines, Dec 10: A small private plane crashed onto a Philippine slum on Saturday, setting off a fire that killed 11 people, police and the Red Cross said.



Rescuers recovered the burned bodies of nine adults, a child and an infant from the crash site near Manila airport, Gwendolyn Pang, secretary-general of the Philippine National Red Cross, told AFP.[break]



Police officials on the scene gave an identical fatality count.
