KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Raj Bahadur Budha Magar, the vice-commander of People´s Liberation Army (PLA) Fifth Division, has vowed to take action against Prabha Bogati, the daughter of UCPN (Maoist) Secretary and Minister for Energy Posta Bahadur Bogati, for violating the PLA discipline.

He also said she would not be allowed to go scot free just because she is the daughter of a Maoist leader.[break]

Bogati, 23, had said she did not withdraw salary as she was staying outside the cantonment.

"I will take action. The PLA organization has its own rules and regulations. Every member has to follow them," Budha Magar told Republica.

The commanders from the Fifth Division also objected to Bogati´s statement.

Opposition parties have accused the Maoists of embezzling the salaries of more than 2,000 absentee PLA personnel.

Bogati, who was registered as company vice-commander from the Fifth Division, Dahaban, Rolpa during UNMIN verification, chose voluntary retirement.

Bogati works as a reporter for the Kathmandu-based Himalayan Television.
