KATHMANDU, Sept 7: A Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) meeting scheduled for Monday will take decision on whether to endorse the name of Om Prakash Mishra as the Chief Justice of Supreme Court.
“We will dwell on complaints filed against Minshra on Sunday and decide whether to recommend him for the post of chief justice of the Supreme Court on Monday,” senior-most PHSC member Laxman Lal Karna told Republica Online.
On August 23, a meeting of the Constitutional Council (CC) had recommended Mishra to the post of Chief Justice.
Similarly, a CC meeting has also called for complaints against Nabin Kuamar Ghimire, a nominee for Chief Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). The complaints can be lodged against him till September 17, according to the decision.
A CC meeting on Wednesday recommended him to the post of CIAA Chief.
