KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Students affiliated with the Nepal Students Union (NSU), a sister organization of the main opposition party Nepali Congress, held a tug of war in a symbolic protest at Matighar, Kathmandu, against the recent dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).
The student organization, which has been holding a series of protests against the dissolution of the 275-member lower house, held the unique demonstration of tug of war to satirize the internal fight in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leading to the dissolution of parliament.
Students impersonated top leaders of the NCP including Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal, claiming that their tussle was solely responsible for the dissolution of the HoR on December 20.
