KATHMANDU, June 3: Nepal has entered into the 72nd day of nationwide lockdown enforced in an attempt to curb the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.
Amidst lockdown orders, Kathmandu streets, however, witnessed a sharp increase in the number of vehicles on Wednesday. Although the lockdown has been extended until June 14, people are gradually leaving home for their professional works.

Places including Tinkune, Baneshwor, Maitighar, Thapathali, Sundhara, Jamal and Durbarmarg witnessed a significant surge of vehicles plying the streets. Some places even witnessed traffic jams due to increasing number of private vehicles.
