PHC endorses Raut as Chief Justice

KATHMANDU, Oct 2: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC), a joint committee of both houses of the Federal Parliament, has endorsed Prakash Man Singh Raut unanimously for the post of Supreme Court (SC)’s Chief Justice.

KATHMANDU, Oct 2: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC), a joint committee of both houses of the Federal Parliament, has endorsed Prakash Man Singh Raut unanimously for the post of Supreme Court (SC)’s Chief Justice.


Earlier on Wednesday, the PHC held a hearing on him starting at 1 PM at Singha Durbar.

The PHC had received six complaints against Raut.


On September 16, the Constitutional Council recommended Raut for the position of chief justice of SC.


The current Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha will complete his term this Saturday, prompting the initiation of the new appointment.
