Public Hearing Committee completes hearing on three proposed justices

A meeting of the Committee held at Singha Durbar today conducted hearings on proposed justice Shanti Singh Thapa, and proposed member of judicial council, Mahesh Nepal.

KATHMANDU, June 30: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) has completed hearings on three proposed justices of the Supreme Court. Likewise, a hearing on a member of the Judicial Council has also concluded. 



A meeting of the Committee held at Singha Durbar today conducted hearings on proposed justice Shanti Singh Thapa, and proposed member of judicial council, Mahesh Nepal. The Committee on Sunday had conducted hearings on two proposed justices—Megh Raj Pokharel and Shreekanta Poudel.

With this, hearings on three proposed justices at SC and one member proposed at Judicial Council have completed. However, the next meeting of the committee would take the decision, said Committee Joint-Secretary Nirmala Devi Lamichhane.


In the course of hearing, the proposed justices and members of the Judicial Council presented their competence, interest, thinking and concept. They also expressed commitment to deliver justice impartially, remaining within the limits of constitution and law.
