KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Petroleum products worth Rs 87.32 billion have been imported through Birgunj customs in the first six months of the current fiscal year 2024/25. A revenue of Rs 36.96 billion has been collected from this import.
According to the Birgunj Customs Office, Rs 18.98 billion have been collected from 479,799 kiloliters of diesel worth Rs 42.24 billion in the first six months of the current fiscal year.
Petroleum products worth Rs 42.25 billion imported
Likewise, Rs 12.47 billion have been collected from 220,385 kiloliters of petrol imported in this period. It is reported that in the first six months of the current fiscal year, 89,380 kiloliters of air turbine fuel worth Rs 8.9 billion were imported, and Rs 100 million were collected from the import of 4,200 kiloliters of kerosene worth Rs 362 million.
In the first six months of the previous fiscal year 2023/24, five types of petroleum products worth Rs 88.78 billion were imported. Likewise, Rs 32.95 billion were collected from the import of petroleum products in the same period of previous fiscal year.
