Petrol bomb hurled at SP in Janakpur

JANAKPUR, Sept 10: Life in Janakpur has come to a halt after Chief District Officer requested public not to leave their home sans important work on Thursday.

The local administration used caution to avert any possible untoward incident after protesters hurled a petrol bomb targeting SP Rabindra Thakur of Armed Police Force.

Demonstrators at Bhanu Chowk threw the bomb at vehicle carrying Thakur while it was heading to District Administration Office from Border Security Office, Mujaliya.

District Police Chief SP Ganesh Bahadur Thapa informed Thakur managed to escape unscratched.

Likewise, protesters hurled petrol bombs at District Revenue Office at Railway Station and the Janaki Chowk-based Ward Police Office. Although, no loss was incurred, police fired in air to disperse agitators.

Police have been fanned out in major thoroughfare to maintain order.
