He said the NOC was bearing Rs 1.66 billion loss in LP gas each year due to value added tax (VAT) and added the NOC can rethink on price hike if the government waives VAT on LP gas.
General Secretary of the Consumers’ Rights Protection Forum Jyoti Baniya warned of stringent agitation if prices of petroleum products were hiked.
President of the Gas Dealers’ Federation Gyaneshwor Aryal said that government imposition of VAT on gas was not judicious.
